House Of EFUNK Episode 2: Till Von Sein

House Of EFUNK Detroit is just 2 days away and to celebrate here’s the second episode of the new House Of EFUNK Podcast. Episode 2 is Till Von Sein recorded live on the patio of The Electric Pickle at House Of EFUNK Miami in March. Till is one of our favorite DJs and Germans all rolled into one funky package and he’s a Soul Clap podcast regular (Till Von Swizzle & Till’s Precious Podcast). It’s a pleasure to welcome him back especially with this extra special 3 hours set. The sun was setting and the party was just getting going and Till set it off perfectly.

House Of EFUNK Episode 1: Tony Humphries

The first House of EFUNK party in 2014 was one of the best days/nights/days of our short lives. We started the Saturday morning in New York City, drove upstate to Mystery Land, played an all vinyl set and then drove almost back to the city to the Westchester airport, where we met George Clinton and his crew and jumped on a private jet to Detroit. We rolled into TV Lounge for the party around 11am and warmed up until George was ready. Then he stepped on stage with us in the courtyard, the Detroit skyline behind us and he performed some of our favorite classic P-Funk jams while Eli DJed and Charlie sang backup. Our day finally ended at noon on Sunday, after Stacey Pullen’s life affirming 5 hour set in the alley.

House of EFUNK has quickly become and institution. Our second edition last year featured another crazy lineup of funk, house, disco and techno legends and innovators and this March we brought the party to the Electric Pickle in Miami for a WMC edition that featured New Jersey house legend Tony Humphries who blessed us with this incredible set that launches the House of EFUNK Podcast!

We’re back Saturday 5/28 with the 3rd House of EFUNK at TV Lounge, Detroit featuring a Biz Markie 45s set, Amp Fiddler Live, Maurice Fulton, Scott Grooves’ Overdubs, Mike Dunn, Norm Talley, Keith Worthy, No Regular Play Live, Benoit & Sergio Live and many more…

Our Prince Tribute Set At Coachella

RIP PRINCE

News of Prince’s passing came smack dab in the middle of our first ever Coachella experience. We were of course shocked and knew immediately that a tribute of some sort was in order… But HOW could we POSSIBLY pick one song or two to represent our gratitude for The Purple One’s immeasurable musical contributions? We wondered, what songs would other artists be playing? Should it be a slow intro or a peak moment? After hours of deliberation we realized that we had to dedicate our ENTIRE 2nd weekend performance to one of our greatest musical heroes. Partially planned but mostly improvised, we took the crowd, ourselves and each other on a journey through some of our favorite Prince hits. By the end the Yuma Tent was full of tears and love and dancing bodies, all celebrating the life and music of Prince Rogers Nelson. It was a truly humbling experience, thank you for joining us.

Episode 133: The Interns present gravitational.WAVs

Here on the Adventures we always love to shine the light on young DJs with good taste, so when Colby (1/2 of The Interns) opened up our House of EFUNK party on Holy Ship with a gorgeous set of house, new disco and funk, we offered him a slot on right away.

“With Summer around the corner, the LA based DJ duo, The Interns, are looking forward to a slower pace and brighter days. After making the rounds at several West Coast festivals, including a two night stint at Coachella’s Silent Disco, The Interns are ready to kick back, relax, and enjoy the Southern California vibes they’ve come to know and love. To celebrate the impending solstice, they’ve compiled an all star roster of downtempo jams. You’ll find a well curated mix of house, disco, funk, and soul to help you drift away to a place where the breeze is always cool and the water is just a short walk away.”
