The Customer Is Always Right


Saw this Gandhi quote on the wall at a coffee shop in Amsterdam:

“The customer is the most important visitor on our premises. He is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him. He is not an interruption of our work. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider of our business. He is part of it. We are not doing him a favour by serving him. He is doing us a favour by giving us the opportunity to do so.”

This ideal is also at the heart of DJing. Sure we met get some stupid requests that we’ll never play, but we should always treat our listeners and dancers with the upmost respect. Without them, we can’t do what we love so much.

    Spoken like a dj who gets it. Besides what fun is it to play the same set over and over, when instead the crowd can guide your selections :)
