EFUNK: The Mixtape

Almost every year since we started going to WMC 9 years ago we've created a special mix to showcase the current sound of Soul Clap. We usually make some simple cover art, do about 100 copies and give them to new friends and old, but then came 2010. With a release scheduled on Crosstown Rebels and our two biggest gigs at WMC, we decided it was time to take it to the next level and put together a 45 track mix, complete with full cover art and chock full of exclusive tracks, edits and drops from some of our closest homies (which just may include some major names in techno :). Lucky for you we made enough copies for everyone so now you can buy the mixtape in our shop, but remember Everybodys Freaky Under Natures Kingdom!

Introducing: Ms Thang

You've probably heard that we grew up playing fashion and hospitality events in Boston and when we're home we still provide swanky soundtracks at our city's classiest shops and hotels. But we're out of town so much these days, what are our clients to do when they need that atmosphere that only Soul Clap can create? Well it ain't just a Soul Clap thang anymore, because Ms Thang is here. We've known her since high school, but it wasn't until 5 years ago that Beth hit the decks and started developing her unique blend of classy beats. The last 5 years have seen Ms Thang build a deep knowledge of classic dance music and strong understanding of creating atmospheres and catering sounds to specific events. Her experience and creative style, coupled with the upmost professionalism make Ms Thang is the perfect DJ to fill our shoes when we can't take a gig ourselves. Find out more in our DJs section

The RnB FreE.P.

The "RnB FreE.P." is the first installment of Soul Clap's free music series. This series will showcase unreleased, but dance-floor-tested material for free download on our website. This first release is a special thank you to our fans and supporters this holiday season. With an R 'n B theme, the FreE.P. features reworks and remixes of famed Bostonian Bobby Brown's late 80's hit "Humpin Around", fallen diva Aaliyah's seductive "Rock The Boat" and 90's Waco Texas based pop quintet Hi-Five's Kissing Game all mastered by Gadi Mizrahi @ The Marcy Hotel.

YoYoYo 90's Jam

It all started way back in 2003 with a love for cheesy 90's music and the crazy idea to buy the then defunct Cross Colors and Hypercolor clothing companies and combine them into the craziest 90's throwback fashion line of all time. Well maybe we never got around to being fashion designers, but at least we founded Yoyoyo 90's Jam. Who would have thought that five plus years, an official blog, a PM Dawn appearance, tons of press, worldwide tours and an official mixtape later we could finally say that the 90's are back and it's most totally radical...dude!

Welcome To Our New Interplanetary Web Paradise

It's finally here! After months of work on design and content, Soulclap 2.0 has arrived. The new site features an innovative design that incorporates the posting style of a blog into an easy to navigate accordion with only the most important current info. It also features a new Our Music section where you can listen to, download and purchase Soulclap beats and a section devoted exclusively to our Consulting services that makes it clear exactly what we do for our clients. For electronic music fans, the site still features links to the Soulclap Blog and The Adventures Of Soulclap Podcast where you can listen and learn about the history of dance music and download DJ mixes. The site was designed by Somerville based Butterworth Co. who specialize in bold minimal design that is heavy on iconography. We hope you like it and please send us feedback!
